Briggs Pension Scheme (2001) (the “Scheme”) - wind up of the Scheme.
Notice under section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925
Pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925, the Trustee of the Scheme gives notice that the winding-up of the Scheme will shortly be completed. The Trustee requests that (a) any former employee of Briggs of Burton Plc, or if such a person is deceased (b) the spouse or dependant of that person, who in either case is (or thinks they might be) entitled to benefits under the Scheme, (c) any person (or the spouse or dependant of that person) who was previously a member of the Scheme but who transferred their benefits out of the Scheme and (d) any other person who believes they may have a claim against the Scheme, provides written particulars of any such entitlement or claim to The HR Department, Briggs of Burton Plc, Briggs House, Derby Street, Burton on Trent, DE14 2LH on or before 3rd January 2023.
After this date, the Trustee will complete the process of distributing the assets of the Scheme amongst the persons currently appearing to be entitled to them and, in doing so, will have regard only to the claims of which they currently have notice.
The Trustee shall then not be liable to any person whose claim has not been notified to them by the date stated in this notice. Notification is not required from persons who have received correspondence after 30th June 2021 from the Trustee relating to the winding-up of the Scheme.
